Ok first of all I have to say - WOW you guys! Lots of entries for the giveaway, and I've been getting a barrage of emails every day from all you lovely ladies! You are the best! If you haven't entered the giveaway yet, make sure to do so here! Heads up on a small change though: I'm changing the deadline to Tuesday at 6 PM Pacific time, because I'd really like to make sure the cookies get to you before Mother's Day and with the possibility of them being mailed to the East Coast... well, I don't want to push it too much! So be on the lookout for the winners Tuesday night, because I'll need your addresses right away for shipping!
And now, a few quick cookie pictures!
These were for a baby shower over the weekend. I hope you enjoyed them Holly! I acturally get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing people's faces when they see their cookies for the first time - but Holly's husband picked these up so I didnt get to see how she liked them.
She was doing a rubber ducky theme and asked for a dozen. I like the little rubber duckies, but I am never one to stick with the simple route... I always want to do something extra. So I did a half dozen regular duckies...
And a half dozen duckies in the bath! What do you think? The bubbles are iredecent, but that never seems to come across well in my photographs.
Matthew loved the ducks, and he has the cutest way of saying "quack quack!" so I enjoyed listening to him quacking like a duck all weekend!
By the way if you are one of Kathy's (my mother in law) readers over at
Never Enough Thyme, you may have seen these already (albeit a picture taken with a cell phone). My husband shared a picture of my project with her and she posted it up... he (in all his technology nerdyness, which I love so much) likened it to when the iPhone 4 was leaked on Gizmodo before Apple had offcially released information about it. Somehow... these two events don't seem equavilent. Although I appreciate the sentiment!
Thanks for responding to my email. Oh My! Those little jelly beans.... cannot even imagine how long that took you. How adorable.
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute! They don't even look like cookies! Do you sell on Etsy?

These are amazing. Your talent is so admirable. How may i ask did you add the bubbles? I have a circle cutter that i need to add additional shape to and cant figure how to join the two!

ReplyDeleteFirst of all thank you! And as for the bubbles, the truth is that I don't even have a duck cookie cutter (or at least not at the time). I just drew the shape I wanted on some cardboard and cut it out, then just set it on the cookie dough and cut around it with a knife. Halfway through cutting out the cookies I had the idea to do the bubbles so I cut another duck out of cardboard but this time with some bubble shapes at the bottom.
DeleteIf you wanted to join two cookie cutters together you could cut out a duck or whatever and then cut out some circles for the bubbles, then use your circle cutter to cut out of your main shape where you want the circle to go. Does that make sense? I'm having a hard time thinking how to describe it! You just don't want your dough overlapping, it will sort of fit together like a puzzle and when it cooks it will all be one piece.
Don't know if that helps... if you need any other help just email me and I'm happy to!
My favorite shaped rubber ducky yet. Bummed to learn you drew it out yourself! Was hoping to buy the same cookie cutter! You are very talented.
